About me and my therapy practice
Time to address something in your life? Perhaps you’ve been depressed or anxious, fearful, grieving or stuck. Maybe you’re struggling with relationships or something has happened in your life that you need to deal with and understand. Or it might be that you just have a nagging sense that something isn’t quite right and it’s finally time to work out who you are and what you want from life.
I’ll listen to you carefully to understand why you’ve chosen to come to therapy and maybe even help clarify what it is that is troubling you. My aim will be to help you feel safe, valued, accepted and understood.
I’m a Masters-qualified therapist, practising since 2015. I create a confidential, non-judgemental space in which you can be properly seen and heard. I treat clients with care, compassion, kindness and respect, allowing you to make sense of complex issues and unhelpful patterns and beliefs, which we address in order to nurture healing, growth and fulfilment.
Practice description
My theoretical base is relational-developmental, which means I believe that understanding your past experiences and relationships and how your self was formed is key to making changes in the present.
We will consider how you’re feeling now and explore the roots of your issues: often current life challenges are fuelled by things that have happened in the past, so we will think about how previous relationships and experiences have shaped you and how you can now take more control over your life now.
My first session
Beginning therapy or working with a new therapist can be daunting but rest assured we’ll go at a pace that is manageable for you. You can speak truthfully and freely, confident that you will be heard and not judged.
Please give me a call or send me an email. We’ll arrange a short, free initial conversation over the phone to see if we would work well together. Our first session will be an assessment session where I'll find out a little more about you and you find out a little more about me - you can ask me anything (in fact, you can do this any time).
If we are happy and comfortable with working together, we will have out first proper session the following week.
