About me and my therapy practice
How are you feeling today? Ok, how are you really feeling? How many times do we get asked this question and choose not to answer it truthfully. Sometimes life can seem a struggle and deep down you may be feeling anxious, have low mood, be grieving for a loved one or change in lifestyle due to a relationship breakdown or struggling with some deep rooted trauma from your past. I understand that talking to friends and family about your problems can feel emotionally exposing or you may feel you don’t want to overburden those closest to you with your worries and fears so you carry on as normal but deep down you just don’t feel like you or happy. What if you could talk to someone impartial without fear of judgement, someone who will really listen to your concerns and problems and together help you to make sense of them.
I am a fully qualified, experienced and insured Counsellor/Psychotherapist who is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework for professional standards. I am committed and compassionate in helping you to get to the root of your problems and will work alongside you to realise your goals, true potential and how to achieve this. I am an integrative therapist and practice from a mainly person centred (humanistic) approach in which I believe in your innate ability to recognise and find your inner resources to gain happiness and more fulfilment within your life. Because one theory does not suit all I am also trained in and utilise the benefits of other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (psychodynamic). I also specialise in a trauma informed approach from my work in a charity that helps survivors of sexual violence, CSA and domestic abuse. Therefore I am experienced in working with clients presenting with trauma and PTSD.
Practice description
If you wish we can meet face to face at my private therapy room in Congleton, Cheshire, online with your preference of Zoom or WhatsApp, via phone, or I can also offer Walk&Talk therapy in the surrounding countryside of Congleton or at a mutually agreeable location. You can guarantee I can offer a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and understanding space for you to explore and process your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and what has ultimately brought you to therapy. I believe that you have the capacity for change and it would be my privilege to help you realise and achieve this.
I offer an initial free, no obligation 15 minute consultation online or via phone for you to ask me any questions you may have about therapy and what to expect. It is really important in a therapeutic relationship for you to feel comfortable, have trust and be at ease working with me and your decision if you would like me to work alongside you in your journey to a positive outcome.
Please ask me about my concessionary rates for counselling trainees and students.
