I am experienced in working on issues of cancer diagnoses, dementia diagnoses especially Younger People (under 65) and those with caring responsibilities.
About me and my therapy practice
Starting counselling can be a very daunting and scary prospect. There are many different types of counselling to choose from and it might feel overwhelming knowing where to begin and which counsellor to choose.
I believe the most important factor in an effective counselling outcome comes down to the therapeutic relationship. I can provide a safe space for you to breathe and just be you!
Based in South Essex, I am a warm, open, friendly and qualified counsellor. I enjoy walking in nature with my Labradoodles taking in the fresh air.
Perhaps you are struggling with feelings of stress or anxiety, you may be feeling stuck or confused and overwhelmed. You may be experiencing grief or depression or struggling with your relationships. I will support and accompany you on your journey, you are setting the course.
We all need support from time to time, counselling can provide you with dedicated time and space to be heard increasing your self-awareness and allowing you to see things differently.
Practice description
I predominately use a person centred approach, although may explore the use of other methods if they may be more appropriate. Person Centred therapy basically means that the counselling which I offer is non-directive and I believe that you are able to seek out your own solutions and own goals for your life.
Person centred therapy requires you as the client to ‘take the reins’ in each counselling session and I am there as your counsellor to guide you and be your source of support. I may ask specific questions, use reflection and sometimes challenge you to help you to become more self-aware. I will offer you a non-judgemental and empathic space where we can work together to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
My first session
I offer a free, no obligation, 15 minute telephone consultation where an initial assessment will be completed
At Space2Breathe Counselling I offer a range of different styles of therapy for you to choose from as my aim is to make you feel entirely comfortable with the therapy you are seeking.
