About me and my therapy practice
Have you thought about counselling for a while and want to take the first step? Maybe you are responding to others in ways you can't explain, and it is affecting your relationships? Or are you feeling lost and confused following a break up or bereavement?
I am a person-centred counsellor with an accepting and gentle approach. You choose the themes and we discuss them together.
Talking to a trained counsellor can help you gain an understanding of your thought patterns, decision-making processes and the view you have of yourself. It is a safe and confidential space to talk about your uncertainties, doubts, and fears. I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, especially when you're feeling drained or unsure of what to expect.
Practice description
During counselling, we work together as you explore past experiences, share your current feelings or work towards personal growth.
I work with adults of all genders and specialise in bereavement, loss, trauma, anxiety, feelings of rejection, guilt and shame. I often work with people who want to understand their relationships and those who are adjusting to change.
For those in the Harrogate, Knaresborough, Starbeck, Wetherby and Leeds areas, I am able to arrange in-person sessions. Additionally, I offer nationwide online counselling that can provide a highly effective and convenient way of accessing therapy.
My first session
To establish if counselling is right for you, I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation. It would enable me to understand the difficulties you are experiencing, and we can decide whether to work together.
At the first session, we will complete basic administration together, establish your reasons for seeking counselling and identify the themes you would like to discuss.
