About me and my therapy practice
Psychotherapeutic Counselling helps to bring about positive change by identifying the tensions and negative thought patterns holding you back, as well as identifying any unhelpful ways of relating to oneself, others and the rest of the world.
Together, we look at how these issues are creating challenges and pain in your daily life. By building a secure, confidential and trusting relationship between us, we create a safe place for you to deal with these difficulties, by expanding insight and creating effective coping strategies.
Relationship Counselling - Every relationship has challenges and dealing with them with a better understanding of each other is the key resolving conflict and improving the relationship as a whole. I facilitate those in personal or professional relationships, whether they want to improve or face the end of their relationships. I also work with people wishing to understand repeat patterns in relationships.
For individual Counselling I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for people to process their thoughts, deal with life’s challenges and/or express their emotions, with the goal of positive change.
I understand it can be nerve racking to embark upon counselling or therapy – it takes courage to start. I work ethically at your pace and believe that all relationships are built on mutual respect. My approach is tailored to the individual clients; couples, groups and individuals from all backgrounds and affirm cultural and identity diversity.
Practice description
The goals of our work are decided upon in a collaborative manner during our initial session and we work specifically with challenges associated with you reaching those goals.
Sessions are usually once a week for 50 minutes for individuals and 75 minutes for couples or groups. I offer sessions face to face at our central London practice, conveniently situated in Kings Cross, or Online via zoom. Please get in contact to schedule a time.
I offer an initial free 15-minute phone call to discuss the issues and decide whether we would like to work together. We work at your pace, as dictated by your needs. I encourage a collaborative process.
We work to process difficult or painful thoughts and feelings and focus on your untapped potential, to identify and draw on your inner resources to live a fuller, more satisfying life.
I belong to the BACP, EATA and IARTA and am bound by their ethical codes of practice.
My first session
In our first session together I listen to what has brought you to counselling at this time and from that do a basic assessment and initial treatment plan of how I think we can work together.
We can then decide on the day or have some further time to think about whether we would like to begin working together, with no obligation.
