About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, my approach is relational-developmental, this recognises the importance of past early relationships and relationships in the here and now, how we see ourselves and experience life.
Through therapy, we can build a therapeutic relationship to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions, whatever you're struggling with. Providing space to focus on your unique personal history and how this may be impacting you both consciously and unconsciously in your present, this will allow for growing awareness enabling better ways of coping, personal growth and healthy change to take place. I offer a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment, creating safety and pace that suits your needs and allows time to reflect on what brought you to therapy.
I am able to draw upon many therapeutic approaches including gestalt, psychodynamic, attachment theory, object relations, TA, and CBT, to provide counselling to suit you and your needs.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults from my private practice in Blakedown, Worcestershire. I cover a wide area of postcodes, as I am in close proximity to Blakedown train station and nearby bus routes. I also work online with clients.
I offer individuals the chance to uncover and understand themselves and their concerns, to help make sense of their worries, and to explore their choices. We often carry patterns of behaving that are out of our awareness, which my result in feeling stuck. The benefits of exploring this process can result in a more positive outlook on your particular situation, improving your relationships and life choices.
My experience has been with individuals who struggle with a wide range of difficulties to include: anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, bullying, have experienced loss, relationship issues, work and cultural issues, family conflicts, divorce, loneliness, expressing anger...
I am also able to draw on my Psychology degree and Health Psychology postgraduate certificate to support clients.
As well as my private practice I also work as a well-being officer at a university. I have a vast amount of experience supporting students with anxiety, exam related stress, and other worries they may have.
My first session
I offer a free twenty minute telephone consultation to discuss your needs. If I am not the right therapist for you, I will aim to signpost you in the right direction.
The first session will be an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to get out of it. This will give the chance to get to know each other more, so that we can make sure we feel comfortable working with each other. A full history will also be taken to build a picture of you and your unique experiences.
