About me and my therapy practice
Having taken the step to find a counsellor is an amazing achievement. It might even be hard knowing where to start with some issues and it can be helpful knowing that I will be there to help understand what it is you are needing help and support with.
I will help to hold the space and explore what it that you are coming with, some of the area's I have helped others in include anxiety (GAD, social and health), depression, LGBT+, anger, sleep issues, OCD as well neurodiversity.
Depending on what it is you are needing, the space will be adapted to offer you the right support you need, your guidance, pace and direction are at the forefront of the sessions.
I have experience working with children, young people and adults, and am adaptable working in the counselling space. I can work with individuals aged 10+ on a 1:1 basis and am offering online therapy sessions, with the possibility of face-to-face sessions in East Renfrewshire in the future.
If you would like to touch base, please reach out by phone or email as we can have a brief introduction for 15 minutes to see if there is anything more specific you would like to talk about or questions to ask.

Experience
I have experience working in the third sector with both children and adults around additional support needs, social care and mental health.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a type of advocacy worker for families in Glasgow who were needing support for their child/children with additional support needs. The support also included 1-2-1 support for the children in the community as well as at home support for the parents which included being a listening ear and support where I could.
I also worked as a mental health youth worker in the East End of Glasgow with children in primary and secondary ages in a group and 1-2-1 setting.
My first session
If you are wanting, we can have a 15 minute touch base which will be free of charge.
When you contact me I will respond as soon as possible with an assessment form for you to complete, asking for general information, emergency contact information, why you are looking into therapy, and any relevant background information.
One-to-One sessions can be organised to start after the Assessment session. The one-to-one sessions last 50 minutes and will take place on Google Meet. Once you book into a session, that time and day will be held for you moving forward - these maybe able to change depending on availability.
Therapy is not a one size fits all, and is important to establish if I am the right therapist for you and your needs. Sometimes people aren't matched and this is something that is natural and can be spoken about freely during your initial free assessment or in future sessions.
