About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Person-centred Psychotherapist (MSc) accredited by the UKCP. I offer a relational therapy built on trust and compassion where together we can curiously and non-judgmentally explore your experiences at your own pace. Together we can sort through, and understand different areas of your life, so you can develop insight and knowledge to better deal with the difficulties that life throws at us. Whether that’s finding better ways of coping when you are overwhelmed or anxious, practising using boundaries so you can navigate your relationships better, or allowing time to process memories and past experiences so they don’t intrude and derail your day, or the many shades in-between.

I can work creatively, often using metaphors, story and images to give expression to the parts of you that might not yet have words. Creativity is something I believe we all have to some degree and I invite the use of creative materials (only if that suits you) whether that’s pens and pencils, collage, pictures and objects or writing, poetry and narratives.

I have volunteered as a counsellor at the Nottingham Women's Centre, where I supported and worked with wonderful women who face multiple disadvantages and have survived trauma of various kinds.

I have also volunteered for the University of Sheffield's counselling service, working with students from a variety of backgrounds, facing the many trials of student life, including isolation, relationship problems, stress, and anxiety.

Practice description

Do you need support with the struggles of life?

Maybe you're struggling to get up in the morning to face the day, you're feeling stressed, anxious or depressed. Or perhaps your relationships aren't where you want them to be. Life can often be difficult and we find ourselves in pain, stuck or overwhelmed and unsure what to do.

How can I help?

I offer you a confidential and non-judgemental space for you to talk about what's going on in your life. We can work together to build a trusting relationship, to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I will offer you acceptance, empathy and warmth and provide the right space for you to work through your struggles and support you to make the right choices for you. Ultimately with the aim to help you heal and find your more fulfilling way of life.

My first session

Finding the right therapist that ‘fits’ for you is hugely important - someone you can open up to and trust - so I invite you to a free and confidential phone call, lasting up to 30 minutes where we can discuss the possibility of working together. We discuss what you need help with and whether I'm the right therapist for you.

The next step would be an initial session, which could be online or in-person.

My therapy room is easily accessible by tram and bus with a car-park nearby. It is situated in the Chilwell/Beeston area, with separate private access around the back. Sessions are usually held weekly and last 50 minutes.
