About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes you need someone to talk to who is out of your family or social circle. Someone who won't judge you or who won't be put out if you talk about wanting to change the way you live your life, your relationship/s or your outlook. This is where counselling can help. I listen to people's concerns, worries and dissatisfaction with life with the aim of working with them to find a new way to think, live or interact.
Practice description
I trained as an integrative counsellor. This means I am familiar with person centred counselling, psychodynamic theory and cognitive behavioural therapy. By listening closely and working with my clients, I aim to use the theory I think best addresses their therapeutic aims.
My first session
Our first session would be a little different to a regular session. We would discuss what brings you to counselling and I would ask more questions than in a normal session so I start to understand your background. Importantly, it is an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable and work out if I am the right therapist for you.
