About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with a Masters in Transpersonal Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy from the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education (CCPE). I am a registered member of BACP.
In addition to my private practice I have experience working with a diverse range of people in a voluntary setting for the Maytree Suicide Respite Centre, Victim Support, The Cardinal Hume Centre and HELP Counselling.
Prior to my psychotherapy training I worked in banking in the City for more than twenty years. I have experienced at first hand the challenges that working long hours can present including with respect to mental and physical health and general work/life balance.
My approach to health is holistic, recognising the interdependence of physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. My own routine includes a daily meditation practice as well as regular cold immersion and I am a qualified Personal Trainer completing a course in Nutrition for Weight Management and Athletic Performance as part of my training.
Practice description
I offer short term and open ended therapy and counselling with the aim of supporting my clients to improve the quality of their lives in a way that is meaningful to them. My practices are in the Barbican and at Paddington and I also work on-line.
Sessions take place in a safe and confidential space with the aim of allowing you to explore sometimes difficult material in order to support you in improving the quality of your life, whatever that may personally mean.
The therapy can be either short term, typically seeking to address a particular issue with a specific goal in mind or longer term allowing for a deeper reflection of your life experiences.
Times of struggle and crises can often present real opportunities for growth. With self awareness and deeper understanding of our motives change can come in a way that feels both natural and spontaneous.
I will support you in identifying your own strengths and resources while we work together to address the challenges that you are facing.
My first session
Please feel free to contact me via email or my website in order to arrange an initial telephone or Zoom call during which I can answer your questions and address any concerns that you may have about the therapeutic process as well as discussing how we may work together. It will also provide the opportunity for us to start to get to know each other and assist you in making an informed choice about your therapy.
The call will typically be for 10-15 minutes and will be free of charge.
In the event that we agree to meet following the call, our first session will include a more detailed discussion about your background, current circumstances and the reasons you have come to therapy as well as your objectives in this regard.
I am aware that starting therapy can be a challenging step. We will work collaboratively in a space where you can feel safe to explore sometimes difficult issues in a way that serves the purposes of the therapy.
