About me and my therapy practice

Do you find yourself wanting to belong and are not sure how to fit in? Do you feel stuck and are unsure of how to move forwards? Have you found your tribe or community yet? Do you feel like an outsider or disconnected from others? These might just scratch the surface of the questions that may come up, and they are all important in gaining awareness of what might be lying underneath.

We all want to feel a sense of belonging and being part of something other than ourselves, which is engrained in the way we interact with the world around us. But we might be impacted by our past experiences like how we grew up, our relationships with others and impactful life events. These can influence our feelings, behaviors and thinking which might show up in different ways affecting our self-worth and how we experience the world around us such as feeling desperate, critical, and hopeless. Being able to find more self-awareness in our experiencing from the past and present, can help us to make informed decisions and choices for the future.

Being a European expat myself, I understand feelings of not truly belonging. I would like my clients to feel a sense of hope and agency in their life stories, and I hope to support you in finding that bright spot even when it might be difficult to see at first.

I provide integrative counselling, drawing from Person Centered, CBT and Psychodynamic approach as well as using psychoeducation to aid in understanding. I also incorporate other techniques which might be useful in our work e.g. creativity, Polyvagal Theory and compassionate focused elements.

With you being the expert of your own experiencing, we will work collaboratively, in finding what would be supportive for you. I am compassionate and provide a non-judgmental space whilst also being able to challenge you and ask questions, supporting you in looking at alternative perspectives that might not have presented themselves yet.

I am registered with the BACP.

Practice description

Sessions are online. They will be 50 minutes long on a weekly basis; however, we can review the frequency over the course of our work together.

I can offer long- and short-term sessions for clients, which means depending on your circumstances and needs we will look together at what would be most beneficial for you, by reviewing our work together regularly.

I can offer sessions in both English and German.

My first session

Our first session will be used as an information gathering session to assess your current circumstances in more depth and what areas we might want to focus on in our work together.

This is also for you to see, whether l am a good fit and you feel comfortable with the way that I work. If that is the case after the first session, we can then fill out the necessary paperwork and book further sessions.

If I am not the right person for you, then I can signpost you to other resources that could be helpful.
