About me and my therapy practice

I am a warm, kind and compassionate counsellor working in person in Witney, online and on the telephone. I am deeply committed to working with clients to find their own way through the struggles they are experiencing by providing genuine support, gentle challenge and true collaboration.

Life is challenging. Recognising when we may need support to find our way forward can be a big step and a brave one too. Counselling can provide the opportunity to pause, to be heard and to hear and understand ourselves in new ways.

Now you’re ready to take that step, I’m here for you and provide that safe, non judgemental, compassionate space you need to work out what’s going on for you now and how you might like that to be different in the future.

I am a qualified, trauma informed Integrative Therapist drawing from Gestalt, Person Centred, Transactional Analysis and Attachment Theory. This means I have been trained in a number of different ways of thinking about how we relate to others and to ourselves, which allows us to find which approach bests suits you and your needs.

I believe connection with others, and to ourselves, is essential for living well. It may be that you feel you've lost that connection or are struggling in your relationships with others or with yourself and are seeking some support to reconnect.

Practice description

I understand we are all shaped by our experiences and never cease to be amazed at the human spirit that adapts in order to survive. Sometimes we may be so used to behaving and relating in the ways that have been necessary in the past, other possibilities are out of our awareness.

Perhaps you’re struggling with persistent anxious thoughts, panic attacks feelings of hopelessness, relationship issues, navigating loss or trauma, experiencing addiction, or fertility or family difficulties…..please know you’re not alone.

Some clients find simply having the space to talk and be heard is enough to see significant change. I've also witnessed the powerful difference the sharing of information about the natural responses our bodies produce when faced with trauma and threat has brought to people struggling with heightened anxiety and panic attacks. Knowing you're not going 'crazy' is in itself sometimes enough to start the healing process. Working together, we can find what’s useful to you on your journey.

Together, and at your pace, we can explore the challenges you are facing now, gently turn over the stones of experience, with patience and compassion, to bring about new awareness and the change you are looking for.

My first session

I suggest contacting me to arrange a free initial telephone call where we can talk about what brings you to counselling now, how you may like things to be different in the future and how I may be able to support you in bringing about the change you are looking for.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process and this will offer you the space to see if we are a good fit.

Please note that my email response may go into your junk mail. Please do check if you are waiting to hear from me.
