About me and my therapy practice
Hello there and welcome!
Searching for a therapist can feel like a daunting task - how does therapy work, will we be a fit, what approach is best?
To keep it simple, I'm going to tell you a little about how I work and what that means.
If you have any questions, please feel free to message and I'll endeavour to get back to you swiftly.
Humanistic psychotherapy and counselling is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the individual's unique experiences, personal growth, self-actualisation, and self-discovery. It is based on the belief that individuals have an innate capacity for personal growth and self-awareness.
I'm an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which is an approach that combines techniques and ideas from various therapeutic modalities to create a tailored treatment plan for each client. I draw from prominent humanistic and psychodynamic approaches including but not limited to, attachment theory, person-centred therapy, gestalt therapy, Internal Family Systems, relational therapy, and existential therapy.
I also support parents and families with parenting through connection. An attachment based approach to building lasting and meaningful connections with children - limiting the conflicts and stresses of family life.
Ultimately, we will co-create a relationship together. Connection is at the heart of everything I do as a counselllor and will always be the starting point of our collaboration.
Practice description
I offer both face to face and remote sessions via Zoom.
Face to face sessions are held at my home office in Crook of Devon, Scotland.
My first session
I offer an initial 20 minute consultation at £25. During this time I will ask you about your reasons for seeking out counselling and walk you through how we might work together.
Finally we'll go through the necessary paperwork, which you're welcome to take away and review.
Should you decide to go ahead with our sessions, the cost of your consultation will be deducted from your first appointment.
