About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified integrative Counsellor and completed my training at the Minster Centre where I am currently completing my MA in Psychotherapy. I was in the Health and Fitness Industry for over 30 years before I decided to retrain as a psychotherapist. I have journeyed through my own experience of therapy, which enriched and transformed my life. The therapy experience, along with my lived experience informs me and my approach to my practice which is to integrate both the mind and body as I truly believe they work best when in sync and harmony. The journey I take with my clients originated from a place of trust and honesty.
While collaboratively working alongside my clients I hope to foster a therapeutic relationship that will see us explore past and present lived experiences. I believe it is an honour to sit with someone and witness their journey towards a future and life that can enrich their mind, body and soul and ultimately see them live their best lives.
Practice description
Everyone has a story, and your therapist wants to hear yours. the therapeutic space is an excellent opportunity to give a full background of who you are and your experience. Though no one can tell you exactly what your therapy process will look like, as the therapist we will establish clear boundaries and goals for your therapy and the steps you will take to be able to explore your feelings and experience in a professional, confidential space.
You can expect that I will be someone who will support you while listening attentively, models a healthy and positive relationship experience gives you feedback and follows ethical guidelines. Therapy should be tailored to you and your experiences.
My first session
The first thing to do is contact me with your contact details and a brief description or any questions you may have regarding therapy. I will then get back in touch to arrange a session without obligation. After the session, if we decide to work together, we can proceed with further sessions. This will involve a detailed assessment, which will give us an opportunity to explore how we might work together in a way that is relevant to your therapeutic needs. this could mean either short or long-term counselling. What I can help with
