About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome,
My name is Alex. I have over 14 years of experience working with individuals and groups in various capacities.
I believe that it's important to get the right support when life isn't going so well...
I also believe that all of us carry certain pain within and occasionally find ourselves in dark woods and therefore we shouldn’t feel any shame or judgment in discussing our life experiences.
My journey to becoming a therapist began as a direct result of me being in therapy and seeing how beneficial and life-changing it was for me.
I am convinced that the most important factor in therapy is the trusting therapeutic relationship. Therefore I offer compassion and a non-judgemental attitude as a starting point to meet each other.
As an integrative practitioner, I draw from several different therapeutic approaches and psychological theories to tailor an approach that will suit your needs and allows us to work together.
I use a psychodynamic lens to explore your current difficulties - for example how you feel about yourself or others – which may be strongly influenced by past experiences and early childhood relationships. In doing so, unhelpful thinking, feeling and behaving patterns can be fully understood, which creates a space for meaningful change.
I will try to look at the bigger picture to help you to navigate through complexities of modern relationships. The aim is to reduce internal conflict, and regain a sense of connectedness and intimacy, as well as help you to strengthen your understanding of yourself and your relationship with the world around you.
