About me and my therapy practice
As an experienced person centred therapist, I will offer you a safe and comfortable space where you can explore your world. With help, you'll be able to express your feelings and thoughts in a non judgemental environment, enabling you to navigate yourself through the issues which concern you.
Over the years I have worked with a diverse range of client issues and have observed the positive psychological movement a client can make. I work from a person centred perspective, though do integrate psychodynamic and cognitive theory. This is a fluid process and is tailored to meet a client's needs.
Meaningful and long lasting change is attainable.
Practice description
Sometimes in life we find ourselves encountering a situation or event which can feel overwhelming, almost insurmountable, whilst other times we find ourselves stuck - we know deep down we are not fulfilling our potential or that something ' just doesn't feel right'. There's seemingly a block preventing us from where we want to go or what we want to change. Trying to deal with these things alone can often be difficult, uncomfortable and confusing.
Working together with someone in a confidential, warm, professional and encouraging space can be extremely beneficial in helping orientate yourself to where you want to be and the changes you'd like to implement.
My first session
During our initial session we will focus on what you'd like to work on and achieve with your therapy , perhaps outline some goals and indicators (so we know you are moving in the right direction).
None of this is rigid, as therapy is often an evolving experience. We will go through a short assessment. First sessions are usually a little longer than the regular 50 minutes as a result. There is no extra charge for this.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Work related issues
