About me and my therapy practice

I can help if you're feeling sad, lost or lonely.......Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, angry and stressed out? Perhaps you're not sure how you feel you just know that something doesn't feel right. You are not alone, I am here for you.

My name is Sarah (she/her) and I am a person centred counsellor who is warm, kind and welcoming.  My aim is to help you to deal with and overcome the concerns that are causing you emotional pain or making you feel uncomfortable, by helping you to find your own insights and understanding of them. I will offer you a confidential safe and non judgemental space for you to explore these difficult emotions, experiences and worries and by working together we can find ways of challenging these to help you to resolve them; or we can work towards learning to accept them. You will lead, and I will work at your pace ensuring that all the while you feel heard, valued and accepted.

I have experience of counselling clients within a charity that supports full time carers.  I have also worked in a charity that supports people at risk of becoming homeless; this also included offering counselling to clients in the wider community who were struggling with a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self - esteem, bereavement, trauma, self harm and suicide ideation.

Here are some of the qualifications that I hold:

  • Masters degree (MA) in Clinical Counselling (with Distinction) *BACP accredited course
  • Level 3 Counselling Studies Certificate
  • Level 2 Counselling Skills Certificate
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Health Education and Promotion
  • BSc (Hons) Podiatry
I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS

Practice description

I offer face to face counselling sessions, online video counselling sessions and I also offer telephone counselling sessions.

I usually see clients for a 50 minute session weekly or fortnightly and offer both short and long term counselling; we can talk about what you'd like to do in our initial meeting if you like.

My first session

It is important that you find the right counsellor for you and so to see how we will work together I offer an initial free 20 minute telephone session. This gives you the chance to tell me about your situation, ask me any questions and get a sense of what it is like talking to me.
