About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Jenny and my main goal is to ensure you are getting the right support.
During your free telephone consultation, I will ask you to tell me a little about why you're reaching out for support and I will let you know straight away if I think I am the right Counsellor for you. If I feel you need different support, I will signpost you to right service. The call with me will also be a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable with me.
For you to get the most out of your sessions, its so important you feel I am the right fit and its my job to adapt to you and your needs.
I am trained in Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and currently training in nervous system health but I am a firm believer that everyone is unique so I adjust my therapeutic approach for each client I work with. I am very open about the process of therapy with my clients, so you feel in safe hands.
I specialise in helping adults who feel alone, isolated - even if they have a support network. I have supported people through depression and anxiety, loss, life changes, menopause, self-esteem issues, self harm and suicidal thoughts, along with trauma and domestic violence.
We can work on your past, your present or your future and I can offer a listening ear, where we go at your pace but I can also work with you in a more structured way, where we create goals for your sessions including teaching you coping tools to enable you to build resilience and improve your mental well being.
My qualifications:
BACP Accredited Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling (2022)
Practice description
I like to establish from the offset how I can create an environment that works best for you. Whether we work online or person, I create a warm, inviting space for you to feel safe in. In my practice, I want you to feel at ease, so I walk with you as you open up - I don't just sit and expect you to bare all. I know a lot of clients don't know where to begin and feel a bit uneasy with a stranger but we take it at your pace and I work collaboratively with you so you feel you are exploring yourself with someone who wants to understand everything you say, from your perspective.
Sessions:
I believe everyone should have access to counselling and with NHS waiting lists so dangerously long, I want you to reach out even if you don't feel you can afford therapy as I do offer concessions for students and single parents.
I offer one-off sessions.
I offer short-term and long-term support.
I offer weekly and fortnightly appointments.
