About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced and qualified Integrative Practitioner that can help you explore and gain deeper self-awareness over a broad range of issues. I offer short-term and open-ended therapy to adults on a one-to-one basis both face-to-face and online.
My Integrative orientation means that I have understandings of an array of therapeutic modalities and techniques which I’m able to draw on when supporting your individual needs. Foremost, I value and honour your individuality as a person and therefore imbue a flexible and sensitive style that takes your unique circumstances, social world and personhood into account.
My approach emphasises the relational dimension between client and therapist, and therefore involves my full and authentic participation in our therapeutic encounter. In providing a non-judgemental and warm environment, I hope to collaborate with you to explore your problems so that you are able to cope better in your life and find more meaningful understandings of yourself that can lead to growth, fulfilment and healing.
The duration of sessions is 50 minutes offered remotely (via Zoom or Skype) or in-person at my consulting rooms in London (King Cross and London Bridge on Wednesdays). I can accommodate time limited/short term therapy or open-ended/long-term therapy depending on your needs.
My regular fee is £85 per session, although I have a limited number of concessional slots for students and low-income clients at £70 per session.
Please view my website at www.riverflowtherapy.com for more details about me, the way I work and the locations I work from.
Practice description
People seek therapeutic support for different reasons. It may be that you are wanting to address a specific problem, speak about past and present relationships, understand and connect with yourself at a deeper level, are feeling stuck and disappointed, would like to heal from traumatic experiences or are searching for meaning and purpose in your life. I believe that therapy can be helpful to anyone looking to enhance their wellbeing, enrich their soul, improve their relationships or gain greater self-awareness.
I have a broad range of clinical experience working within the NHS, Charitable Organisations, Low-cost Services, and in private practice since 2012. As with most BACP and UKCP therapists, I can help with most issues, although I have significant experience in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, domestic abuse and cultural difficulties.
Having undergone counselling for many years myself I appreciate the complexities and courage involved in embarking on this personal journey, as well as the rewards of transformation and empowerment that can be gained from it.
My first session
Our work together would start by exploring what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve in our sessions. Sessions generally take place weekly and are 50 minutes in duration both remotely (via Zoom or Skype) or in-person (Kiss Cross and London Bridge, London). Our first session will give you an indication of what it is like to work with me so that you can decide whether I am the right therapist for you. If you decide to continue therapy with me, we would create an outline of your goals for therapy and discuss our contractual terms and conditions.
Please feel free to contact me by email or phone if you would like a free 10-15 minute phone consultation prior to booking an initial appointment.
