About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life can be challenging, we feel helpless and the realisation that we cannot face this alone is difficult. The decision to seek therapy is a courageous first step on the journey to initiate change. In my personal experience therapy can be a turning point in life, bringing about self-awareness and understanding which in turn promotes personal growth and development. Therapy can provide you a space to better understand yourself and make sense of your own history, behaviour, and sense of being. If you feel that it is becoming difficult for you to make sense of life, small things seem overwhelming and challenging, I am here for you.
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space for my clients. A space where we will explore and understand your concerns at a deeper psychological level. I firmly believe in the strength of the therapeutic alliance, as therapy is a collaborative journey based on the values of trust and honesty.
Practice description
I am an integrative therapist, with a PGDiP in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regents University London, and have experience of working with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I have worked with clients including refugees and assylum seekers who come from a diverse cultural background and are feeling the stresses of integrating into a completely new cultural environment. Coming from a multilingual and multicultural background myself, I have the ability to understand and adapt my approach to support diverse communities.
My approach is informed by various modalities; I use Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, and Psychodynamic approaches. I work holistically, as I believe therapy is a dynamic process tailored around each individual client incorporating the mind, body, feeling and spirit simultaneously heading towards healthier relationships with yourself and your world.
My first session
I can provide therapy in English, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi.
For the success of therapy it is hugely important to establish a good therapeutic relationship. Our first session will give us an opportunity to assess if we will be able to work together. Before the initial session I offer a complimentary non-committal 15 minute zoom call.
