Hello. You’ve found your way to my BACP profile. Welcome.
If you’d like to, take a look around. You might have some questions about who I am or what I offer, and I hope they’re mostly answered here. If you still have questions, or would like to arrange a chat over the phone before booking in for an initial appointment, complete the contact form on this website or send an email to contact@psychotherapyworks.org.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer confidential, professional, English-speaking relational-psychodynamic therapy with a qualified, registered and experienced New Zealand-trained therapist. Essentially, I’m in the business of facilitating growth, healing, and change through a particular kind of therapeutic relationship.
The psychotherapeutic process enables people to recognise and change archaic, self-limiting patterns. The intention is that you, should you choose to engage with this process, will work to come to a better understanding of yourself and your relationships, and create new possibilities to live with awareness, creativity, spontaneity, and an openness to intimacy.
More information can be found on my website at www.psychotherapyworks.org.
People are drawn to engage in this process for many different reasons. Some find that they struggle to make and maintain satisfying relationships, or are becoming aware of unhelpful patterns which tend to play out in their relationships with others. Others are fed up with the anxious thinking or self-criticisms which follow them around throughout the day. Some have been feeling particularly lonely, or angry, or sad, or low. Others know a bit about therapy already and, even though they’re not experiencing any particular struggles, are interested in engaging in an accompanied process of self-exploration and personal growth.
For many, things aren’t as clearly defined as this necessarily limited list might suggest - there is simply a background sense that something’s not right, or could be different. For some, a family member, friend or colleague has suggested they speak to a professional. All I really want to convey here is that psychotherapy can be of value within the context of a broad range of relational and emotional challenges or life dissatisfactions that you, like many other people, may be experiencing.
Practice description
I have a background in mechanical engineering and military service. I hold a Bachelor of Counselling from New Zealand, my home country, and have eight years experience as a therapist. I work remotely from my current base in France - securely online via Zoom - with people in the UK, EU, and New Zealand.
I am a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a student member of the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) for psychotherapy, currently working towards registration as a psychotherapist. I am in the process of having my membership with the ITAA accredited by the relevant regional UK and European professional bodies.
What I want to convey here is that I’m a reputable professional with relevant training, experience and competence, and that this has been acknowledged by highly regarded professional bodies which, within their own respective jurisdictions, are responsible for the registration of therapists and the maintenance of therapeutic and ethical standards.
More information about me and my qualifications as a therapist can be found on my website at www.psychotherapyworks.org.

About Working via Zoom
At the moment I am only offering online appointments, securely via Zoom. Given this format, I am only able to work with people who have access to the following:
- a quiet, safe, and private room where you can talk without being disturbed or overheard
- which includes a comfortable place to sit or recline - this is therapy, not a business meeting
- a computer with Zoom capability (audio and webcam) and a strong internet connection
- the ability to minimise distractions, which may involve blocking notifications on your computer and muting your phone
These details are really important. The idea here is to replicate, as closely as possible, the experience of coming to a therapist’s office.
