About me and my therapy practice
I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your challenges and work through what’s distressing you. Together, we’ll work to uncover the root of your struggles and move towards meaningful change and improved wellbeing.
My approach is rooted in understanding how past experiences shape present-day thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe that exploring these deeper, often unconscious, patterns can lead to meaningful self-discovery and lasting change. I work in an empathetic, non-judgmental way, helping you feel heard and understood.
I have extensive experience working in different therapeutic settings, including my private practice, university counselling services, and with a cancer charity. I’ve also worked in hospice care. My diverse experience allows me to bring a broad understanding of life's challenges to my work, whether you’re struggling with emotional pain, anxiety, depression, or unresolved past trauma.
I am currently undergoing further training at the Institute of Psychoanalysis, which allows me to deepen my understanding and refine my skills, ensuring that I can offer the most effective therapeutic support possible.
Practice description
You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain if things can get better. Perhaps you’ve been struggling for a while, dealing with a sudden crisis, or find yourself repeating patterns that no longer serve you. Often, our past experiences shape how we think, feel, and react in the present. In therapy, we’ll explore these past influences, try to uncover the root of your struggles, and work together towards a deeper understanding of yourself. By bringing unconscious patterns into awareness, you can begin to break free from old ways of thinking and behaving, and move toward creating a more fulfilling, balanced life.
I work in an open ended away, in once weekly sessions, meaning you are in full control of how long your therapy might be. Every client’s needs are different, and I tailor my approach to what feels right for you. This flexibility allows us to move at your pace and focus on the areas that matter most to you.
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where we can work together to explore whatever is distressing you. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, but staying stuck can feel harder. I understand it’s a big step, and I’m here to support you. Together, we can explore what’s troubling you and find a way forward.
My first session
If you’re ready, get in touch and we will begin with a brief phone call before meeting for a 60 minute initial consultation. We would then have the time to think about what brings you here now, and to gain a more in depth understanding of you. It is also an important chance for you to see if you might find my way of working helpful to you. If we think it would be useful, we can have a second consultation, again for 60 minutes, before deciding whether to work together in once weekly sessions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
