Whatever situation you find yourself in – whether you are depressed, suffering from a change of circumstance or loss in your life, anxious or confused, a sense of hopelessness or futility, in the grip of an addiction - I can offer you the opportunity to explore all the strands of your internal narrative. My approach is always to consider and accept the whole of you.
Working with me you will get my full attention. I will listen empathically as you unfold your unique life story. I will strive to better understand the context of your present situation, as together we explore your interior world.
In a safe, non-judgmental way we can explore what it is like to be you. As safety and trust develops, you can experience painful emotions that are often deemed unacceptable in your development or in your outside life. By re-experiencing emotions in the here-and-now, in a safe and supportive environment, you can reappraise past events and inputs, and reintegrate them into your present day life. As an integrative counsellor I am open to many different theoretical models. These include: Person centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt.
