About me and my therapy practice
Is it difficult to cope with everyday challenges? Are you feeling a sense of panic? You may be feeling isolated or that you are not good enough. If you are experiencing any of the challenges above or more I can help.
I work with adults and young people across the country who are experiencing challenges that affect their day-to-day life. These challenges could include experiencing a feeling of depression, anxiety, Low self-esteem or stress. Sometimes these feelings can lead to feeling isolated or confused. Maybe you have struggled with fitting in to society; you have had problems in relationships; family issues or you have been through traumatic childhood experiences, either way there is always someone who can help you. Sometimes we feel like we don’t deserve counselling or that we are just over-reacting but if a feeling is interfering with how you cope with work, school or home life then maybe it is time to talk it through.
I am a qualified therapist. I have trained in a range of modalities including psychodynamic counselling, which means that if needed we can look at your past experiences and can explore how these have impacted you.
I offer a warm and empathetic approach. We will work at your own pace, which I believe will help build an honest and reliable relationship, making it easier for you to feel able to speak freely. Your unique needs will always be at the heart of my work and will inform which therapeutic model I would draw upon to help us explore and deepen your understanding and sense of self. My particular interest is in working with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse or who have ADHD. I hope that throughout our sessions I am able to help you feel a sense of empowerment and an understanding of why you are experiencing these challenging feelings.
Seeing a counsellor or opening up for the first time can be a daunting process but I also believe the counselling relationship can be special and can help you develop a deeper self-awareness.
