About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Laura and I am a fully qualified, UKCP accredited and BACP registered existential psychotherapist.
Whether you have experienced a life changing event, have a difficult situation you want to pay attention to, or if the source of your unrest is not known, I provide a space for compassion, curiosity and understanding. I will work with you to deepen your awareness of what it means to be you and how you experience the world you live in.
As an existential psychotherapist I understand difficulties as part of living – how we relate to others, respond to our experiences and manage uncertainty – not everything can be ‘fixed’ but together we can make space to acknowledge and process your feelings, with a view to being free from the hold they may have on you.
Practice description
At the heart of my therapeutic approach lies the belief that the relationship between client and therapist is crucial for growth and self-discovery. I believe we learn about ourselves in relation to others and that therapy provides a unique opportunity for a connected relationship with another, and in turn with yourself.
My approach is also one based on collaboration. Only you will truly know what your experience is, however together we can navigate the landscapes of your life. I will actively listen, encourage insightful reflection and provide support as you explore what matters to you. Any aspect of your lived experience can reveal deeper understandings of your challenges, strengths and aspirations.
My first session
I recognise that considering therapy may feel like a difficult first step and there can be many reasons that you may be seeking some help and support. I offer a 30 minute free online session where we will have the opportunity to meet and decide if we feel we can work together.
If we do decide to proceed we can then agree on a weekly time.
