About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of effective therapeutic approaches. I'll work with you to authentically explore your challenges and to make helpful changes. You’ll be listened to, accepted and respected, whatever you choose to bring.
It can be helpful to work through your thoughts and feelings with someone who seeks to understand us, someone who can offer effective reflection on our situation. Through this collaborative process, you may come to better understand the relationship of your past and present, and unhelpful patterns which can impact your choices and relationships - and so unlock your resources to bring about helpful change.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues and I'll aim to work flexibly to support your goals. I will offer you a safe and confidential space, for an authentic exploration of life's challenges. You’ll be listened to, accepted and respected, whatever issues you choose to bring.
Practice description
I draw from knowledge of humanistic, existential and psychodynamic therapies, as well as elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy (including mindfulness-based approaches). My approach is further informed by findings in recent psychological research and I have experience of working both with short-term (solution-focused) and longer-term therapy.
Before qualifying as a counsellor, I gained professional and volunteer experience of working to support emotional-wellbeing and psychological health, including work with individuals diagnosed with a mental-health condition alongside issues around alcohol or substance-use.
I'm a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I'm also a certified couples and relationship therapist and my practice is LGBTQ+ affirmative.
