About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my profile.
I understand that you are finding a readiness in yourself to look at and deal with your problems. Some issues are visible on the surface, other issues might be buried and need some gentle digging.
I would like to tell you what I have to offer you specifically so you can decide if I am the right match for you:
Ever since I was young I have been intrigued by the question about the meaning of life - what is it all about?
Inside and outside the therapy room I have a deep interest in people finding their professional and spiritual path in life and feeling a connection.
On this path they are road blocks like a
• a tricky childhood,
• deafening self criticism
•anxiety
•a deep sense of not being good enough
•traumatic experiences
•overbearing family members
These experiences hinder us from living out our true self. The above causes can manifest themselves in addictive behaviour, unfortunate sleeping patterns, disproportionate anger, shame or anxiety and ultimately not allowing ourselves to live to fuller capacity
To explore your life I have a variety of tools available:
I have a Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling specialising in Gestalt, Person Centred Theory and Transactional Theory with Wealden Institute BACP- approved.
I can additionally offer:
Mindfulness or calming of the mind ideas
Accessing the mind through symbolic language like art, poetry, music or play.
I have a deep appreciation and warmth for my clients and I am with you all the way offering confidentiality and empathy. I won‘t judge, when you are telling me experiences that you feel uneasy or ashamed about. (My teacher once said: Shame is the most toxic emotion).
Clients have given me feedback that I have warmth and a dash of humor as well as a deep understanding of human nature and an ability to lead the client deep into themselves. They have also reported that they were able to adjust their lives for the better on both an emotional and a practical level.
Practice description
Usually I like to work on zoom or via phone. A mix of online and face to face sessions are also available to suit your needs.
A counselling session is usually 50 minutes long.
If you so wish a session can include a short visualisation, mindfulness exercise or meditation which clients and myself often find helpful.
Even though the work is very serious I like to sprinkle some humour and lightheartedness as well as creativity into the session.
My first session
After you have contacted me by text or email, I will get back to you to arrange a free of charge session of 30 minutes.
During this taster session I find it useful to get to know you and talk about contracts, your history, answer questions about myself etc.
