About me and my therapy practice
Things just happen in life. Something unexpected, out of the blue could come along and upend you. Other times, you may have even had prepared yourself for the sudden impact. But it doesn't mean you'll be able to cope with what has happened, because there are events that take place where no amount of preparation can prepare you for emotional upheaval that awaits you.
Bereavement, separation, addiction, abuse, illness, suicide and a lack of confidence, these a but a small representation of manifestation for emotional challenges one can experience.
Even positivity can have a detrimental impact.
Whatever the experience, you may not feel able in speak to anyone; family or friends, out of fear of the possibility of being judged, rejecting or made to feel inadequate. These concerns may be misplaced, but the potential fear of losing anyone close to you may be too great a risk.
This is where counselling may be of benefit.
Counselling seeks to enable you to find your voice and begin the therapeutic process of rediscover you. Equally, to rebuild your own self-worth, to trust in your own value and potential. The counsellor will seek to understand your struggles, never to judge or dismiss you, but will seek to ensure that you are never ignored or silenced, that you recognise from the outset that you are respected and valued. And at no point will the counsellor ever attempt to lead or direct you in anyway, instead, the counsellor will hear you, follow your lead, at your pace when you are ready.
As your counsellor I want to provide you with the space necessary to achieve this. A space where you will always feel to share of yourself openly and freely with whatever you choose to bring.
Counselling is about you achieving what you feel you need from the relationship. My role is to support you in that process for as not as you feel you need to achieve meaningful change.
