About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my page. My name is Henrik and I am a humanistic therapist, here to support you during challenging stages in your life, but also to help you find change and discover new paths and possibilities.
The key to successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist, and perhaps it is because of my Scandinavian background that my clients often describe me as ‘hyggelig’, warm and gentle, with an inquisitive mind. It is important for me to create a space of complete confidentiality, where you feel safe to share anything that is going on for you without feeling judged. By choosing therapy, you will no longer be alone with your feelings or your thoughts. I will be here to take the journey with you.
I offer face-to-face sessions, but also work online, and thus available to clients throughout the UK and internationally. I also offer home visits for senior citizens. My base is in Haywards Heath.
I offer concessionary rates to NHS staff and students.
Practice description
I have extensive experience with bereavement, supporting carers, and communication within relationships. I have personal experience with pregnancy related issues from a man’s point of view.
Believing we are all unique, I do not see it as part of my practice to label my clients, but I have experience working with themes such as:
Anxiety
Depression
Relationship/family issues
Stress
Burnout
Behaviour change
Belonging
Self esteem
Self exploration
Parenthood
Mindfulness
Whether you want to work through personal problems, explore ideas or engage in personal development, I can offer you a safe and confidential space where we can work together and help you find your answers and move forward, towards new paths and a greater sense of wellbeing.
Sometimes, we just need someone to be with us, who will listen to our story, without judgement, e.g. around bereavement. At other times, we need someone who can help us find solutions to our problems and discover new paths. We might want to get in touch with our true self and our feelings, which can help us understand ourselves and the world around us better.
I will never tell you what to do. What works for me, or someone else, may not apply to you, and I think it is important that you find your own answers and take responsibility for your own life, so you can grow and find your true self. We will work together to explore your options, before you choose the right path for you, and I will be there to support you along the way.
I am not expecting you to perform or be in a certain way, when we are working together. So just come along and be yourself. I am here to help, not judge. You will do most of the talking, while I listen and reflect what I think could be useful for you to explore further, and drop some challenges along the way.
My first session
I offer an initial 30 minutes free of charge session, after which you can decide whether you would like to do your work with me. If you do, our sessions will be 50 minutes.
