About me and my therapy practice

Choosing to access therapy can be a huge step, and it really is one that I wish to help you take. Hello, my name is Marie, and I would like to offer you face-to-face counselling in a kind, caring, and non-judgemental, confidential environment.

As a BACP qualified Counsellor, the work I offer is based around weekly 1-2-1 sessions where I will compassionately provide you with a secure space to process what has been going on for you and to help you feel validated, perhaps even for the very first time, whilst we work together to try and discover what it is that you inevitably need.

How I can support you

I know that it can take a lot of courage to access help, and seek support, and I would really like to work with you on your journey towards finding 'You' again, by assisting you in taking that first empowering step. I can provide counselling on a range of difficulties including Adult ADHD, autism, anger, abuse, addiction, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, intrusive thoughts, stress, self-harm, relationship issues, as well as health & wellbeing.

Practice description

How I Work

I work using one of the main counselling approaches called Person Centred which means that I provide you with the foundation to bring about your own self-healing. I passionately believe that we all have the capacity to heal from our past traumas and as a result to flourish as a human being given the right conditions. I not only wish to help my clients to build better relationships with others, but to thrive as a result of the relationship with their-self. I therefore work with techniques to help you balance your Autonomic Nervous System so that you can feel emotionally regulated again.  In addition, I may incorporate elements of CBT to help you identify and challenge negative thought patterns, beliefs and behaviours, providing you the tools to make positive changes in your life.

Talking therapies is a way to help you achieve this and by working with you we can slowly begin to overcome your distress and look at ways to make your life meaningful again.
