Therapist - Romsey

Romsey SO51
07818674994
Sessions from £50.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available
  • Concessionary rates

Availability

My approximate working hours are Monday 9am - 2pm, Tuesday 9am - 3pm and 6pm - 8pm, Thursday 7pm - 9pm and Saturday mornings 9am - 1pm . I have various spaces within these times for face to face work in Salisbury, outdoor therapy or at SP5 1BW (near Salisbury, Andover, Romsey and Stockbridge) and online.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative therapist that puts you at the centre of our time together and I aim to provide a confidential space where you feel comfortable and safe to explore your difficulties. I will build a warm, honest, non-judgemental and trusting relationship with you so that you can feel accepted, able to open up and unpick the things that are challenging you. I work flexibly by gaining an understanding of your needs, for example offering walk and talk sessions, using music or creativity as a channel for communication or offering flexible times to fit around work.

You may have had an event that has stirred something for you or have been experiencing ongoing challenges for some time. It maybe that life feels overwhelming, you are coping with another person's behaviour, or you feel like nobody 'gets-it'. It could be that you are so busy supporting other people that you need a space of your own. You may have been harmed in the past, find it hard to trust people or are seeking a confidential space to express and explore you thoughts, feelings and/or behaviours. Counselling can be immersive and challenging yet with me by your side it can enable change, bring awareness, resilience and personal development, and allow you to move forward with a better sense of wellbeing and confidence.

Practice description

I have experience and/or training in working with people with neurodiversity (diagnosed or suspected), people in recovery from addiction or have a loved one in addiction (past/present), anxiety, depression, relationships (parents/children/partners/colleagues), transitions (into work/education/moving house), self-harm, suicide ideation, anger, trauma and abuse.

I have worked with young people in primary school, secondary school, home schooled, college and university settings as well as school avoidant and boarding schools. Adults and older adults are also drawn to working with me with the above difficulties for my empathic understanding and ability to form a safe, trusting relationship.

I work with people from all walks of life, from unemployed, in education, working to public figures. Aged 12 and above, teens, young adults, mid-life and older adults are all in the age-range I work with. I am open minded, inclusive and welcome clients from different and diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.

I work in a person centred way. I do not; give advice, assume I know what is best, judge you, tell you what to do, give an opinion or tell you it will all be fine. I do; support you to find a way forward, allow you space for feelings/tears/silence, explore your options, respect that you know yourself best, be alongside you through difficult emotions and believe you can recover.

My first session

It is important for you to feel comfortable with your chosen counsellor so I offer an initial meeting of up to 20 minutes, free of charge, where you can experience me as a person to determine if I might be the right counsellor for you. From there, if you chose to work with me, we will agree your sessions (usually weekly initially) and how we will work together. The first few sessions will be spent getting to understand your difficulties deeper, looking at your hopes for counselling and building our therapeutic relationship. I work with an open-ended offer of counselling (short term and long term). I offer regular reviews of the work to allow us to assess the journey you are on, process any changes and their impact, and make any adjustments to our work if required. Some clients like to form goals to aim for, in which case, these are also reviewed regularly to ensure the work is enabling the change you wish.
