Practice description
Can we talk more about the type of therapy offered?
I offer humanistic person-centred counselling. Person-centred counselling doesn't follow a strict agenda or necessarily undertake specific procedures or techniques. I will work in a creative way to find the best way of doing therapy with you. You just need to be open to being yourself and to letting me be myself with you. The talking, thinking, being and feeling guide the process. In the first session, we will see if we are a good match to work together. There is not an initial assessment of your medical history or current state of mind.
What if I'm still unsure about what I'll get from therapy?
Therapy provides the opportunity for you to find meaning in who you are and your life circumstances. This requires an openness and willingness on your part to explore aspects of your life that may be challenging and uncomfortable. I will stay with you as you walk that (potentially life changing) path and offer their skilled insight into helping you figure out the direction that's best for you. Are you ready for it?
My first session
But, is it actually legitimate and safe?
An enormous part of therapy is feeling safe and in good hands! I am trained and qualified to masters level in counselling, so can offer professional psychotherapy. I follow the guidelines of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy on confidentially and ethics and adhere to Data Protect Laws. Please see my page on Protection (on my website) for more about this.
And about payments again?
I charge between £60 and £70 for a 60 minute psychotherapy appointment. This depends on your employment and training status. I ask payments are made 24 hours before your appointment. If you feel unable to afford the payment fee, please take a look at our information about other available resources. I don't want anybody to go without help.
