About me and my therapy practice

As an Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I combine Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, and Person-Centred approaches to offer tailored, client-focused therapy. My work is deeply rooted in creating a compassionate, safe space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.

With a strong emphasis on empathic communication, I prioritise the therapeutic relationship, ensuring each session promotes personal growth and emotional healing. My approach integrates the mind-body connection, incorporating practices such as breathwork to foster a holistic experience that addresses both mental and physical well-being.

Having worked extensively in multicultural environments and traveled widely, I bring a culturally sensitive approach to my practice. This allows me to effectively support clients from diverse backgrounds, respecting and understanding the unique cultural contexts that shape their experiences.

I am committed to continuous professional development, which includes both my therapeutic practice and my work in CPD training. I believe in collaborative learning—not only for my students but also for me as a trainer. This keeps my skills up to date while fostering an environment of shared knowledge and growth.

My advanced training in psychosexual and couples therapy enables me to effectively support clients facing challenges related to intimacy, trust, and conflict resolution. Additionally, my EMDR training, with a focus on eating disorders, equips me to help clients work through trauma and disordered eating.

I am passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate their relational journeys, providing them with the tools they need to foster deeper connections and personal resilience. Through empathy, cultural awareness, and a holistic approach, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those I work with.

Practice description

I provide a confidential, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely. Each session lasts 50 minutes, offering you the time and space to reflect at your own pace. My approach is non-directive, meaning I do not impose solutions or advice but rather guide and support you in discovering your own path to healing.

I believe that you know yourself best or have the potential to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, even more than your therapist. My role is not to "heal" you but to help you access your own inner resources to heal yourself. I respect your autonomy and view therapy as a collaborative journey where I offer my expertise, but the power for change ultimately lies within you.

While I charge for my time and professional expertise, my commitment to your well-being is always heartfelt. I am dedicated to keeping your best interests at the core of our work together. I adhere strictly to the ethical standards of both the BACP and the UKCP, ensuring the highest level of professional integrity and care in our sessions.

You can expect a compassionate, ethical, and client-centred approach that respects your journey and personal growth.

My first session

In our first session, I aim to create a comfortable and welcoming environment where we can begin to explore your reasons for seeking therapy. This session is an opportunity for you to share your concerns, ask any questions, and get a sense of how we might work together. I do not offer a different rate for the initial session, as it is consistent with my standard session fee.

The first session is also focused on understanding your needs and goals. I may ask a few assessment questions to gain a clearer picture of your current situation and the challenges you're facing. This helps me tailor the therapeutic approach to suit you best. However, it is a relaxed and open conversation where you lead the pace.

During this session, we will also discuss practicalities such as session frequency, confidentiality, and any other concerns you may have. The goal is for you to feel supported, heard, and empowered from the very beginning.
