About me and my therapy practice
I passionately believe that in order to achieve a successful outcome in therapy, a safe and supportive relationship is essential. My approach is collaborative and client-centred to work with you to achieve your goals.
I primarily use a psychodynamic therapy model in my work. This approach differs from other psychotherapies as it focuses on making sense of your current difficulty and the feelings, thoughts and associated memories that may have brought you to your current situation. These elements are then used to gather a greater understanding of how you relate to yourself and to friends, family, partners and work colleagues. This way of working supports you in becoming more self-reflective, with a forward-looking approach that acknowledges the influence of the past, with an emphasis on making change in the future.
About Me
I’m a Psychodynamic therapist and counsellor, with over ten years of practice with a range of emotional difficulties. In that time, I have gained experience working in education from primary, secondary schools and university counselling services. My work experience also extends to the NHS for adult psychological services and in GP Practices.
EMDR
I am a trained EMDR therapist, a member of EMDR Association UK and I am able to work with clients aged eighteen and over. Through this approach traumatic memories can be reprocessed properly and stop them from causing you difficulties in your day to day life.
