About me and my therapy practice
I have completed four years of formal training in Transactional Analysis and Psychotherapy along with additional training at a Certificate level in other areas of interest, such as CBT and Addiction. I have been awarded the UKATA Diploma in Transactional Analysis Practice and a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
Having worked in a caring profession for many years as a Registered Dental Nurse prior to becoming a qualified counsellor, I am experienced in empathically responding to people’s pain and discomfort. My extensive counselling and psychotherapy training has now enabled me to offer support for emotional and psychological distress. I started my journey to become a counsellor initially just with a view to help dental phobic patients but I soon realised during the training that I enjoyed working in other areas also. I now focus solely on my therapy work covering a wide range of issues and regularly update my skills and learning with Continued Professional Development.
Practice description
I run my private practice seeing adults in the Crawley and Horsham areas alongside my work providing counselling for several Employee Assistance providers. In addition to these roles, I have worked for Relate, at a leading London hospice providing counselling support and an online low-cost counselling service. As a result of these posts, I have gained experience in a diverse range of presenting issues and have included just some of my areas of expertise for your information.
My first session
I like to offer a free 20 minute video or telephone consultation in the first instance, this helps me to learn a little more about your reasons for seeking therapy. This is also a time for you to ask any questions and to get a feel for whether you would like to work together moving forward.
