About me and my therapy practice
It may feel daunting trying to find the right therapist, who really understands you, but as the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tazu, said: “the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”.
Welcome.
Perhaps you feel this is the right time to invest in your own wellbeing.
Are you feeling stuck in your romantic relationship?
Are you stuck in the same patterns?
Are you struggling to be a parent?
Are you feeling lonely? Disconnected from others?
Are you experiencing anxiety and feeling low?
I am here to work with you to explore the meaning of all this.
In my professional history, I have worked with young children, adolescents, and families, servicing a diverse range of individuals, communities, and organisations. I have previously delivered therapeutic support to foster and adoptive families and have worked with the NHS, University of Hertfordshire, CARIS Bereavement Service, and various charities across the UK.
I have worked with clients from different backgrounds, presenting with a variety of issues, including attachment, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, relationship or family issues, traumatic experiences, life-stage crisis, panic attacks, sexual abuse, sexuality and personality disorders.
My style is psychodynamic relational, which means that I focus on your unconscious to understand together, how past experiences have influenced you and how this is manifesting in your current behaviour. Therapy can be challenging, but also rewarding, as it can lead you to discover things about yourself that you may not be aware of.
I will engage with you in the therapeutic journey. Together we will explore what makes you feel the way you do and what you would like to bring in our sessions to change things.
I offer you a personal, comfortable and safe environment. Whatever your gender, religion, cultural background, sexuality, age, I am here to meet YOU.
Practice description
I offer both long and short-term therapy either via Zoom or in person from my consulting rooms in High Barnet, North London.
My therapy room is in Chipping Barnet. This location is conveniently within a short driving distance from Hadley Wood, East Barnet, New Barnet, Finchley, Borehamwood, Cuffley, Potters Bar, and other parts of North London and Hertfordshire. Several bus routes service the High Street, and High Barnet Tube Station (Northern Line) is just a 10-minute walk away.
My first session
I provide a free 30-minute initial phone consultation, which provides you the space to tell me about your concerns, personal circumstances and ask any questions. Together, we will see if I am the right person to help you.
Following this, we will meet for a full consultation meeting where we will discuss an agreement to meet at the same time, each week for 50 minutes either in person or using an online platform.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and I abide by the BACP code. I hold an enhanced DBS check.
