About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified (MBACP) integrative counsellor, with experience working with a wide range of people and concerns including:

• Anxiety

• Depression

• Bereavement

• Trauma

• Anger

• Self Esteem

• Relationships

In addition, I hold a qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have experience working in the NHS IAPT service.

I work in an integrative way blending both the Person Centred and Psychodynamic approaches. Working integratively means I am able to be flexible in my approach, collaborate with you to truly understand your values, experiences and perspective and tailor therapy to best suit your needs.

Other:

I am DISC certified. This means that I can utilise the DISC Personality Profile to support clients, which will enable you to find out what your communication and behaviour preferences are and raise awareness of your motivational drivers. This enables you to understand yourself and others on a deeper level.

I am a group facilitator for Action for Happiness (a registered charity) 'Happiness Habits' course.

Practice description

The Person Centred approach puts you at the centre of the therapeutic relationship, respecting that you are an expert in your own life, and helping you to open up as much as you feel comfortable to by building feelings of trust, safety and support, enabling you to feel comfortable to be open and move closer to clarity.

The Psychodynamic approach considers the effects of our unconscious, revisiting past experiences and how that might shape our personality, thoughts, feelings and coping mechanisms today.

Together we can explore what’s troubling you. Therapy can be a powerful tool in helping to understand yourself better. Through clarity of thought you can work towards a solution that is right for you.

My first session

Starting therapy feel overwhelming.  I offer a 30 minute free consultation which will help you decide if you'd like to proceed with therapy with me. We can discuss your needs and expectations, and you can ask any questions you might have.
