About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed, stuck, lost, confused, exhausted. Counselling can help you make better sense of your thoughts and feelings and find a way through your challenges.

I believe you already have all you need within you to be who and how you want to be. I passionately believe change is possible if you want it to be. You may just need a helping hand to see what's getting in the way. I'd like to help you better understand yourself, so you can develop the self-compassion and strategies you need to thrive.

You may feel unsure how to find the right help. You've come this far so let's see if it feels right to work together. I'm friendly, open-minded, down to earth and patient, and I'll do my best to put you at ease so you can be yourself.

I work with young people (16+years) and adults, welcoming all cultures, identities and issues. I offer non-judgmental empathy, a supportive nurturing style and even a bit of humour! Together, we'll work to find your own way to feeling better in yourself.

Practice description

I aim for you to feel equipped with self awareness, a toolkit of strategies and the empowerment of self-compassion.

I work integratively which means I combine different skills and techniques depending on your needs. My trauma-informed approach draws on Parts work, Somatic Therapy (working with how emotions affect your body), Compassionate Inquiry, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Attachment theory and Coaching.

I help you become curious about how your brain-body-emotions are connected, exploring what you can change physiologically to help improve your overall wellbeing.  We will look at practises that release and regulate emotions. Some psycho-education can help you better understand how to interpret and soothe your whole nervous system. We may use some creative exercises too to  explore where words are harder to find.

Most importantly, having your story heard without judgment and in complete privacy, may help you learn to feel safe to be your Self. Being able to explore freely can be truly liberating and enlightening in itself.

I offer face to face sessions in my own comfortable counselling room, or online sessions if preferred. I also offer outdoor sessions where we can 'walk and talk' in an agreed location. Given the chance, I believe that moving and breathing in nature is like food for the soul for many of us.

We can explore what is helpful for you. Together, we will develop your own toolkit so you can nurture your own well-being.

My first session

It's important to see if you're comfortable working with me. I understand that not everyone clicks and you need to find the right therapist for you. I'll aim to put you at ease in a free 30 minute introductory meeting to discuss what support you need, what I can offer you and to answer your queries.
