About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative therapist I have trained in a number of different therapeutic techniques. Through this I have developed a flexible and grounded approach that allows me to meet you where you are.
I will use my experience to help build an empathic, non judgemental and nurturing space where together we can safely explore whatever has brought you to seek therapy.
My approach is strongly collaborative. I will travel beside you on your journey offering support, compassion and space, as well as gentle challenge where necessary.
Through our work I will seek to reduce the impact of the issues that brought you to therapy in your daily life helping you to gain greater clarity and perspective, and so feel less burdened by them.
Working with people of all ages and walks of life has helped me gain experience in helping with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, loss, grief and stress to name a few.

Practice description
My practice is based on working with the unconscious. Those deeper drives and habits of which we are unaware, and that are often the root cause of the challenges and suffering we face.
As mentioned above, I work as an open ended therapist, meaning rather than having an agreed number of sessions, we work together as long as is necessary to effect real change.
This will allow us the time and space required to uncover these unconscious drives. A process I will support by patiently exploring your thoughts and feelings with you, and by being both empathic and holding, as well as challenging and pokey where necessary.
Some of our sessions will therefore consist of basic therapeutic exploration through gentle questioning, active listening and reflection to focus on what you say and feel.
However, I will also I allow intuition to play a part in our work together to allow what may be being left unspoken to find a voice.
I will use various methods to aid that exploration, including creativity, dreams, image, myth, story and symbol. These are classic tools that help us access deeper drives, habits and beliefs.
Through uncovering these you will gain a greater sense of self awareness, which in turn will support you to live a more fulfilling and contented life.
My first session
Choosing the right therapist can be a confusing and daunting prospect. It is therefore a vital, and very personal decision. To aid this I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation in which we can discuss your needs, and to give you the opportunity to meet me face to face.
It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about therapy, and about me and my practice. This will give you the chance to discover whether you feel I am the right therapist for you, as well as for me to better get to know you and your circumstances.
This will be the start of a longer process for you of developing trust and confidence in me and my practice, and so exploring any further questions you may have will form a natural part of our work together,
During our first full session I will then undertake a more detailed assessment of your situation to help ascertain how I can best work with you to support you in your process.
