About me and my therapy practice
Are you currently “surviving” rather than “thriving”?
Are you feeling stuck? Hopeless? Depressed and anxious? In need of support?
Through the 3 lenses of past, present and future, I help people to explore how to make changes in their life. Making changes, whether internal or external, can be challenging. Part of us wants to change and part of us may not want to, or not know how to.
Based on our experiences from the past, many of us have created survival strategies that helped us to adapt and survive when we were growing up. The challenge is that these same strategies that previously helped us to survive, no longer serve us so well later in life.
This might include being: a people pleaser (denying our own needs, hopes and dreams), suppressing our true feelings (making intimate relationships difficult); or engaging in addictions (that start to cause more problems than they solve).
In my work, I help people to:
• uncover these survival strategies;
• meet them with curiosity, understanding and compassion; and
• open to new possibilities going forward
New possibilities might include developing: a personalised toolbox to resource yourself in daily life, greater self-compassion and understanding, and reduced fear and anxiety.
I can help you work through a gentle process of awareness, acceptance and action. I combine this approach in a unique way for each person, drawing on neuroscience, compassion focused therapy, and creative tools such as myth, poetry and visualisation.
You can find out more about me and my practice on my website.
