About me and my therapy practice
If you are here then perhaps you are finding life quite tough at the moment; I am sorry that things are challenging and hope we can work together to make things feel lighter for you. Whether it be a one off event that has triggered this feeling or something you have been carrying for a long time I offer a space where all of you will be accepted and welcome- including the parts of yourself you might not like that much.
Stories are powerful and I believe a lot of us carry round a story about ourselves that isn't necessarily our own but was given to us by someone else or society itself. I offer a safe and confidential space in which to explore these stories and what it might be like if there was a chance for you to re-narrate your own life.
I have worked with myriad different people and presenting issues and am really here to explore whatever you are finding troubling at the moment.
I have received specialist training and have experience in working with those that have experienced sexual violence and abuse (both recent and historical) as well as supporting those going through the perinatal period and stages of parenthood.
Additionally, I have over ten years experience working in the Higher Education Sector, supporting students as they transition from adolescence to adulthood.
Practice description
As a Humanistically trained therapist I work with you as a whole human being as opposed to looking at symptoms alone, although these are certainly an important part of how you experience being in the world. I also believe that you are the expert on your own life and will always be led by you and take things at your own pace.
Currently I am working face-to-face in Seaford, East Sussex and can also offer online sessions via Zoom.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute phone call, in which we can have a chat about what you are looking to get from therapy and you can also ask any questions you may have.
First sessions can often be a good space to look at what you would like to get from therapy, what you imagine it might be like. I can certainly offer some ideas for how we might work together but shall always be led by you.
