About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered counsellor providing one-to-one therapy for individual adults, young people and couples.
I endeavour to create a calm, respectful, non-judgemental therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable to explore the issues that are concerning you, overcome them and make lasting changes.
Whatever your situation counselling can offer a positive intervention for a range of difficulties. Maybe its your general sense of wellbeing, your mental health, feelings of self-worth, self-confidence, past trauma, relationship difficulties, sexuality, compulsive sexual behaviour, problems at work, college, school, or within your family. Maybe you are bereaved and trying to process your loss.
Some clients benefit from tools and techniques, others want to achieve new understanding about themselves, many just want a safe place to talk. I won't tell you what to do, you are the best person to decide what you need, but I will listen to you and guide you to understand yourself and your circumstances better and make changes.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on different therapeutic modalities to tailor the therapy for each individual client.
As a Relate trained relationship therapist I help couples who have challenges getting along or maybe want to separate. Maybe you are arguing all the time, perhaps someone has been cheating, had an affair or struggles with an addiction. Maybe there is an addiction to sex or porn. You might need to explore some difficult issues and we can do that with you as a couple or individually. These can be difficult problems to share, it’s not easy, but it can be a relief to talk confidentially, rather than keep things bottled up.
I trained as a Bereavement Volunteer at Cruse Bereavement and I can provide emotional support and grief counselling to anyone who has experienced loss through the death of a loved one.
As a school counsellor for the 14-18 age group I understand the difficulties young people experience as they become young adults. Supportive, compassionate counselling can help them navigate challenges at school, home, with friendships and with life in general.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute introductory session so you can decide if I am the right therapist for you. This can take place online or over the phone.
We can talk about what you hope to get from counselling and how we will work together so you feel comfortable about the process.
My fees are:
£60 per 50-minute session for adults
£45 per 50-minute session for under 18s
(I offer some some sessions at concessionary rates for adults)
