About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life throws up challenges that are too hard to cope with alone and therapy provides a safe and confidential place to work through those challenges. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship problems or recurrent issues from your past, working with a trained therapist can help.
There is no set formula for therapy but by talking through your problems in a non-judgemental space, you can gain more clarity on how you're feeling and why. We will look at your upbringing and your history and gradually start to identify patterns of being and relating to understand why you feel how you do. With this new self-knowledge and insight, we can identify new ways of being that are more helpful to you now.
I also pay attention to the mind-body connection as evidence shows that working with breathing and the nervous system help mental healing too.
Get in touch now if you’d like an initial chat to find out more.
Practice description
I am trained as an integrative counsellor, so I use a range of different counselling techniques according to your situation and needs. I place great emphasis on building trust and understanding with my clients as research shows the client-therapist relationship is the most important aspect of therapy and the main factor in making it successful.
I offer a free 15-minute phone call before we start working together so you can check the chemistry fit is right and that I'm the right therapist for you.
My first session
In our first sesssion, we go over your goals and how therapy works. I explain my background and what you can expect. I take a brief history including of any therapy you've had before and then we get started.
I check in regularly during our sessions to ensure the therapy is working for you. We go at your pace but I will gently challenge you from time to time.
