About me and my therapy practice

My name is Jenny, I'm a qualified integrative counsellor. Integrative meaning that I have trained in a variety of different therapeutic approaches.  I am a huge fan of animals, geeky things (such as gaming - both electric and board) and enjoy live music.

I understand what it is like not only to be a counsellor, but to be a client as well. It can be a daunting experience sitting in front of what feels like a stranger and talking about what's on your mind. It is important you feel comfortable, and that your counsellor is a right fit for you, which is why I am happy to offer a 10 minute complimentary introduction conversation to check we're the right fit for one another.

I have worked in the charity sector for the last 10 years and have thoroughly found my passion in supporting people. I discovered at a young age that I am a deeply empathetic person, and that I enjoy being with people.

I enjoy supporting the community and during my spare time I provide support to my local scout unit, I have been an active member for many years now. I also volunteer with the Samaritans and supporting younger people via a mentor programme.

The important thing to know about counselling, is that it is there to support you. Whether you feel you're facing a crisis, a big life transition, or you purely just need a platform to talk things through. I offer long term, short term, and solution based counselling dependent on what we identify is your goal from therapy.

I welcome the opportunity to work with you, from whatever walk of life you may find yourself in, I work with all cultures, religion, genders, age or sexual orientation.

Practice description

My face to face practice is based in West Molesey, Surrey, There is ample parking available and is accessible by public transport. I have a dedicated counselling room, offering a confidential environment. I also can offer online appointments for anyone in the UK, and am happy to work with a hybrid approach to accommodate your schedule.

I also offer home visits for clients who have accessibility issues. For these there is an additional fee to cover time/mileage.

I work with an integrative person-centred approach, which means I draw from a variety of theories and approaches, allowing our sessions to adapt and be flexible around what may be required. Your self, and your needs are at the centre of our work.

My first session

I offer a complimentary 10 minute introduction call to get to know one another, and understand what your needs and expectations of counselling may be. In this time, we can explore if we are the right fit, if my way of working is appropriate to what you may need, as well as availability.

Our first session involves getting to understand better what you feel you may want from therapy (this can change, as sessions go on). In the initial meeting, we will go through terms of our sessions to ensure our work is ethical and safe and to identify frequency and duration of sessions. As a standard, I offer 50 minute sessions, but do offer flexibility dependent on requirement.

The first session, or maybe first few sessions will often involve discussing your goals or needs from therapy, and a discussion to help me understand why you have chosen to attend therapy. Our time together is your space to talk about what you want to bring.
