About me and my therapy practice
Hi I’m David. I’m described as a strong yet gentle man by friends and clients alike report feeling relaxed and comforted when around me.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and I work with children, young people and adults. I qualified from the Northern Guild, one of the best training institutes in the UK and I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a member of BACP, I adhere to strict ethical codes which act to serve and protect each and every one of my clients.
I have extensive experience of working therapeutically with children and young people in primary and secondary schools and through working with organisations such as Barnardo's. My work with young clients is attuned and impactful and one of my forte's. I am also experienced in my work with adult clients which makes up a majority of my work in private practice.
In my work, I use an integrative approach and draw upon a number of differing modalities to suit the needs of an individual client. I'm highly creative and attuned and I use these skills to introduce a range of media and interventions to facilitate a client reaching their therapeutic goals.
If you'd like some further information on me, the way that I work, or just to get me know me better , please feel free get in touch and we can arrange a free 20 minute call when it suits us both.
Practice description
I have an in-person, warm and welcoming private practice in a second floor within Whitley Bay which has a waiting room for parents of young clients with tea and coffee making facilities and access to a WC.
There is plenty of parking and links to public transport near by. I'm 1 minutes walk from Whitley Bay metro station.
For additional details of practice location, please feel free to get in touch.
I also offer sessions online.
My first session
For some the first session can be daunting. If you decide that you'd like us to work together, I'll be there to gently guide you through each step, at a pace that suits you best.
I'll send you an initial contract for you to fill in and return ahead of your first session. During our first session I can answer any questions that you may have, and we'll talk through items such confidentiality and data collection so that you are clear on both ahead of starting the work. We'll also spend some of the time within this session talking through your assessment form.
