About me and my therapy practice
Most people come into counselling to try and resolve something that is preventing them from living a full and satisfying life. It could be the diagnosis of an illness, or the loss of a friend or relative. You may have lost your job or perhaps you are struggling with infertility or post natal depression. You might just be feeling quite low and not like yourself but dont really understand the reason why you feel that way.
I believe that we all have a natural instinct to lead a healthy, happy and fulfilling life, but sometimes events and situations can be barriers that stand in the way of accessing our true potential.
I specialise in psychodynamic therapy which focuses on the importance of the unconscious, and the way that our past experience, deeply rooted trauma or learned behaviour from childhood, can shape our thoughts, feelings and behaviour in the present.
When feeling overwhelmed or when faced with challenges taking the time out during the week to explore, reflect and acknowledge your feelings with a professional therapist can be the first step to better mental health and an important part of looking after yourself.
I offer a warm, welcoming and confidential space where we can explore the thoughts and feelings that may be overwhelming you with the hope of guiding you towards becoming the person you want to be.
Please get in touch for a friendly, non-committal chat if you feel that you are struggling or unable to cope for any reason. Together we can explore how you may be able to overcome the difficulties preventing you from enjoying life to the full.
