About me and my therapy practice
Life can often present us with situations, evoking a range of intense and disorientating feelings, thoughts and emotions. At times, we may be able tolerate this range of emotions, potentially talking to family and friends, whilst at other times, we may struggle, experiencing low self-esteem, fear, anger, anxiety, loneliness and isolation in regards to what we are feeling.
I am a qualified relational integrative therapist, with an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means that I can offer clients a bespoke approach to therapy, based upon their unique needs and experiences, bringing together elements of humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT).
As a therapist, I have worked extensively within the NHS and a specialist bereavement service. Prior to training as a psychotherapist and counsellor, I worked for 10 years within both the Statutory and Charity sectors, in various roles, supporting those in complex crisis situations including those who had been impacted by crime, care proceedings and domestic abuse.
I strive to be alongside you in whatever you may be feeling, providing a genuine, empathetic, non-judgemental, safe space where at your pace, you can potentially learn more about yourself, explore your feelings in regards to both present and past experiences and promote your overall mental and emotional well-being.
Practice description
I am passionate in offering my clients a creative approach to therapy, tailored to their individual needs, drawing upon different approaches including the humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT approaches.
I work with individuals aged 17+. After you have made contact, we would have a free initial session online allowing us to get to know one another.
My first session
Within this session, we would discuss if you have a particular reason for attending counselling (you don’t have to have one), and we would, at your pace, begin to talk about the difficulties you are experiencing. We would also explore any expectations or questions that you may have, and collaboratively decide if we will continue working together.
If you felt you would like to continue, we would arrange a regular weekly session, lasting 50 minutes. We would discuss whether you would like to have our appointments face to face-at my private practice in Clapham Junction or online.
