About me and my therapy practice
I'm an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist which means I can offer a range of therapies rather than one approach to support your need. I offer a friendly, non judgemental, confidential and safe space for you to be heard and begin your counselling journey. I understand can be daunting. and sometimes talking to friends and family is not enough or too close. Having your space and working together we can gain a new perspective, a new understanding and find ways to tackle issues which will empower you to change negative behaviour patterns.
I have extensive experience working with clients who have suffered abuse, including recovering from narcissistic, controlling or co dependent relationships , which can include family too. The result of these can mean suffering the effects of trauma, low self worth and confidence and of course loss .
My other expertise lies with working with Anxiety, OCD , BPD and eating disorders as these often derive as the safe behaviours from childhood or adult trauma.
My background in education also means I am qualified to work with young people and families.
You will have the answers and I will work collaboratively to help you unlock these, gain clarity as well as give you the tools to enable you to get you where you would like to be. I will help you to find a new sense of confidence and autonomy to change negative behaviours.
Being an Integrative Counsellor allows me to use a range of concepts to tailor your therapy using CBT and DBT but it is the Personal centred approach which puts you first, allowing you the space to be heard. Together, we can explore whatever difficulties you are experiencing to get to you to a happier you. If you feel you would work well with honesty, warmth and openness then I may be the counsellor for you.
Please call to have chat to see how we can work together to help make that positive change happen.

I’m an integrative counsellor, Supervisor and Psychotherapist offering 3 modalities to support clients: Personal Centred Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional analysis. I am passionate about supporting clients with honesty, warmth and openness bringing both expertise and empathy to sessions.
As a Supervisor, I support this passion by developing further understanding of how to support clients and students holding groups supervision as well as individual sessions. I am always reading books and articles related to current topics, listening to podcasts and developing my CPD through both on line and face to face courses. I believe we learn best when we have context so try to gain as much of that as I can when working with Supervisees.
About me and my therapy practice
I worked in education for 20 years; the beginning as an Early Years Lead and advisor for the authority and later as an Assistant Head , Safeguarding Lead and Mental Health in Education Co Ordinator for Tameside. I gained qualifications to work with young children and teenagers working at the PRU to support children with ADHD and Autism as well as anxiety, exam stress and eating disorders.
This career, alongside my counselling , also afforded me the chance to work with a diverse range of issues when working with adults. These included; BPD, OCD addiction, grief, anxiety, trauma, PTSD and abuse. I have extensive experience of working with childhood trauma and deliver training to universities around this subject.
My expertise lies with anxiety (intrusive thoughts, panic attacks and OCD), trauma (childhood and PTSD) and grief.
For the past few years, I have specialised in issues relating to couples and relationships: including narcissism, DV, coercive control , trust, infidelity and infertility.
I have a love for the counselling and the diversity which it brings and am constantly looking to challenge myself , keeping myself current with new initiatives attending regular CPD which supports the Integrative approach. I run group supervision sessions at my practice in Heaton Moor and enjoy the role of supervisor alongside that of counsellor and pscychotherpist.
