About me and my therapy practice
On one hand life can be seen as a work in progress but perhaps you are also wondering if this is it? Are you being pulled in different directions or disturbed by anxiety and depression. Are you looking to let go of difficult aspects of your life and find peace in your closest relationships? Do you need to focus more on yourself?
Through our counselling relationship I will work closely with you in a safe and non-judgemental space where your thoughts and feelings can be gently explored at your own pace. My hope is that our sessions will leave you feeling refreshed and with more clarity about your difficulties.
I trained as a counsellor later in life however I bring an abundance of experience from having a working knowledge of the NHS, employment services and also supporting vulnerable adults and their carers in the health and social care system. I have also been a volunteer counsellor for individuals at a charity which supports those affected by addiction and abuse.
I have always been passionate about helping people to value and believe in themselves again, these are some of the reasons I trained as a counsellor.
Practice description
As a relational integrative counsellor, the therapeutic relationship is central to the work that we will do together as it can offer a expression of your own way of being with yourself and with others.
I will work with you to facilitate healing and wholeness, taking into account your individual circumstances, using aspects of various approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.
The Green Room Stowmarket is a dedicated wellbeing centre. It is adjacent to the Union Street Short Stay Car Park immediately outside, which is pay and display. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from Stowmarket Station. The counselling space is located on the ground floor with level access.
My first session
I always feel that it is useful to have a short telephone discussion (10-15 mins max) just to see how we feel about working together in counselling, answer any initial questions, and consider if I am the right person to support your issues.
To begin with I will offer you a full initial session (50mins £45.00) which is a great opportunity to test whether it is for you before making any firm commitments. It allows us to meet and explore what you are hoping to gain from therapy and how I might help. We will also discuss confidentiality and make a contract to provide safe and ethical boundaries for our work together.
If you are facing a challenging time at present then I appreciate it may be hard to make the next step, however this could be the beginning of a life changing journey for you.
Please email me and I will respond by email or telephone to arrange an initial discussion.
