About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and experienced, Person-Centred Counsellor working with individuals and couples (18+) from my practice in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, SL9, UK. Sessions are in person, online or via telephone.
This safe, non-judging, trusting environment provides clients with a private space to share feelings, thoughts and emotions where they feel heard and empowered to explore life's challenges at their own pace. This helps clients find new, positive proactive thinking strategies and assists them in being able to manage their problems and solutions independently. This also helps find their own process towards self-healing to gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationships with others.
My specialised area of work covers Anticipatory Grief and Grief. The Anticipatory Grief work is supporting clients who have had a life changing diagnosis which has had a significant impact on their lives. This environment offers a safe space for individuals or couples to find a solution on how to deliver the diagnosis to loved ones. This continued counselling support offered helps towards clients developing robust strategies for making meaning of what is happening. The Grief area of practice covers clients who have experienced different kinds of loss which include:the death of a loved one (including suicide), miscarriage, relationship breakdown, divorce, separation, job loss, redundancy, menopause health issues.
I also work with clients who are facing difficult circumstances in life resulting from life's transitions including:depression, low self-esteem, bullying, anxiety, loneliness and isolation.
I have experienced working within policy and procedural frameworks regarding equal opportunities, child and adult protection, risk assessment, safeguarding, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and confidentiality. I can work with and build relationships with adult (18+) clients from diverse backgrounds, cultures and ages.
